How do I get into the Chautauqua Institution?

Enter through the main gate. There will be a personalized pass at the Welcome Center for you.


Where do I park?

You can park across the street in the public parking lot. For the 2020 season, there will be no parking fee due to COVID-19 and the canceled CHQ season. 


Do I have to pay the gate fee?

No, once you tell them your name, a personalized pass will be waiting for you. We will inform the welcome center that you will be arriving. We will cover the gate fee for you.

What are the differences between Season and Off-Season?

Off-Season is from August 28 - June 21. During that time there will be no gate fees or parking fees and you can drive right down to the St. Elmo Spa.


Where are you located in the institution?

When you enter the grounds, follow the brick path, and it will bring you to the side entrance of the St. Elmo building. We are located on the lower level.


What types of payments are accepted?

We accept all payments: cash, credit, debit, check, and gift certificates.


Do I have to fill out paperwork when I get there?

If you are scheduled for a massage, there is an intake form. This form will be completed upon your first massage and then reviewed at each repeated massage appointment. If there are any updates to your health information, please let us know.


When should I arrive for my appointment?

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early. No guests will be allowed to join you during the 2020 season due to COVID-19 social distancing.


Can I bring my own refreshments?

Yes. We will also have coffee, tea, water, and occasional wine events. Alcoholic beverages are permitted at the spa, but we insist that you drink responsibly.


Is there a bottle fee if I bring my own alcohol?

There is no bottle fee.


Can I bring lunch?

Yes, if you are hosting an event at the spa you may bring a light lunch.


What is your cancellation policy?

You must give us 24 hour notice or you will be charged 100% of your scheduled service(s).
